Wow, this is amazing. I have wanted to visit the Lamborghini museum and I just did by using google maps. Google took their map feature and utilized it inside of the Museo Lamborghini. I was accustomed to using Google maps to find distances, duration, and directions to a particular location. However this morning while at my computer I was able to move around inside the Lamborghini museum.
As a lover of all things technology, this is cool. As a lover of Lamborghini’s, this is Awesome!
Visit the Museo Lamborghini here at google maps and explore for yourself.
Inside the Museum
Here are some views of what you will find. If you visit the Lamborghini website you will see static pictures. However if you use the Google maps widget to enter the museum you will find yourself inside the museum and able to use the arrow keys to walk around. You can move to view each vehicle from multiple angles.
Here is a shot of the ground floor where you can walk right up to a vehicle. This is a green Lamborghini LP400, a predecessor to the Countach.
You can walk around the museum and see each car from a distance as well as close up.
You Can Get in the Cars!
While I have never sat inside an LP400 I felt like I just did. You can spin around in the interior, a completely different feeling than looking at static pictures. You simply move toward a car and then click the vehicle to get inside. Here is the interior of the green LP400 above.
Ever seen the LM002? Well now you can and you can sit in it also.
You Can Go Upstairs
There are two floors. The bottom is called the ground floor and the top is the first floor. Do not ask me why, it is what it is. You simply walk towards the stairs and click on the stairs. You will then be on the floor above. There are more on the next floor and even a Lamborghini attached to a wall sideways. Here is a quick upstairs shot.
What will be Next?
As a father I hope they take the time to go into all museums. I would love to visit museums all around the world with my kids via the computer. Obviously I would prefer to go in person and we do take advantage of the museums near us, however it is not always possible to visit every museum. Think of those that are not fortunate enough to be able to travel, now they too can experience the museum by moving through it instead of just looking at static images.
