Here we go again, another special day focused on shopping. This day is called “Green Monday” which I guess means that retailers make a bunch of green. There is Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Green Monday. By the way, for those who do not think these are days created just to generate sales, here is a funny story. I was speaking to someone from Panama recently, the country and not the area in Florida, and they mentioned they now have Black Friday after Thanksgiving. The funny part is that they do not have Thanksgiving in Panama but have instituted Black Friday to mimic the sales that retailers see in the U.S.
The term Green Monday was originally coined by eBay as the best sales day in December, then Comscore defined it as the Monday with at least 10 days prior to Christmas. Here is the wikipedia info on Green Monday for more.
