You may want to consider keeping your email accounts separate from your website. What I mean is that you have one company host your website and another host your email. In this case if your website has problems you will not lose your email and vice versa. For those of us that like to attempt to avoid disasters, this is a good option. You can register your domain with them and use them for hosting or another company for hosting, then use them for email. Once you get an email account with Go Daddy here is how to use it.
How to Access your GoDaddy Email Account
Given below are a set of instructions that enable you to access your GoDaddy email account using Microsoft Outlook and your web browser. In fact accessing your email account is quite similar to accessing your gmail, hotmail or yahoo email.
Setup the Email Account
The first thing that you should do is type your domain name that is linked with your email. For instance if your domain name is hillponds.com then just type in email.hillponds.com. There is no need for you to prefix it with http or www. Once you have keyed in your domain name, you are taken to a login page where you will have to enter your username and password. Your username is the name that appears before this sign (@). For instance, if your name is Rosalie then the user name will be Rosalie@hillponds.com. Next, enter the password and make sure that there are no spaces in between and that it exact and case sensitive.
Once you are successfully logged in, you will be routed to the Inbox of your email account with GoDaddy Email. You can use the web based email program. If you want to access your GoDaddy email account through Outlook 2007, you need to add a few things like and incoming mail server (pop.secureserver.net), outgoing mail server (smtpout.secureserver.net).
Next, you will have to enter the username with your full email address along with the exact password. Once you are done with this you will find the “More Settings” icon on the bottom right of your screen. When you click on the icon it will open a pop up window where you will find the outgoing server tab. Next, select “Use same Settings as incoming Server” and “My Server requires Authentication.” That is all their is to it.
