Big Numbers Get my Attention
I like big numbers, really any numbers, and shinny pennies. As witnessed by my post about the Top 10 Online Shopping Days of all time, 2010 Internet Stats, and others such as a Trillion ad displays in Q1 of 2010. All these things get my attention and shed light for all of us on certain industries as well as trends. What does this have to do with the Superbowl? Two stats I saw, one I read and one I saw visually, about the Super bowl.

Super Bowl Stats from an Advertising Perspective
The Superbowl is the biggest advertising day of the year. Wow. A poll by the Harris Search Network stated that 69% of all Americans plan to watch the Superbowl. Incredible. A wealth of information about Super Bowl Commercials can be found at Wikipedia and here is the second stat that I found impressive. This graph shows the rising cost of a 30 second advertisement on TV during the Super bowl. In case the graph is hard to read, it shows that since 2006 the cost was $2.5 million for a 30 second spot.
2011 Super Bowl Commercials
Now the fun stuff. Due to the cost of ads which is relative to the number of people watching, advertisements are very highly anticipated. Some trivia for you, the first Superbowl Ad was in 1973 by Noxzema with Joe Namath. There are many famous, or should I say infamous commercials. This year promises not to disappoint as well. Some entire ads have already been released, not sure why but here are a couple. A preleased GoDaddy Superbowl Ad was done just right with amazing godaddy girls as you do not have the entire commercial yet, you have to wait for the Superbowl, others released entire commercials.
GoDaddy Superbowl Commercials
There are two GoDaddy Ad teasers currently being shown at GoDaddy. The first is a teaser which alludes to a Hollywood icon becoming their newest GoDaddy .CO Girl (.CO domains are a new top level extension). Here is a picture which does not reveal her identity, nor does the current video but you can see it here.
The second released video has long time GoDaddy Girl Danica Patrick and new girl Jillian the fitness expert. The commercial looks good, however you can only see a teaser now and need to wait until the Superbowl commercials to view it all. Which makes sense to me, here are some other companies full 2011 Super bowl ads below.

Big Audience Means Big Money
The point is to always keep your eye on the market to know where the audience is. An audience of that size can be used for many things, not just immediate sales but also branding. However only those advertisers know the real result of their advertising.
